The Missing Piece – Book Review

Share this:

Hey everyone, I’m Ayxan Solongo aka Arden Skye aka TimeFliesAway, a shapeshifter traveling through the multiverse.

It’s a sweet little story about a missing puzzle piece used as an analogy for adopting a baby into a big family.

I can’t say much else about it. Very short, and very straightforward. Felt more like reading a personal letter to the baby in the future, so it can look back and see why they adopted it. (Whether that’s good or bad is very subjective. Personally, I found it a little boring, but not bad.)

The rhymes of the narrator weren’t always as smooth, but the story mainly lives from its artistic imagery. And those are clean, I like the semi-realistic style.

Thank you to Megan K Palmer for sending me a digital invitation. The story is set to be released as a picture book on 13th March 2026 in this universe. Written by Megan K Palmer and illustrated by Emily Hurst Pritchett.

Also fits the March Book Guild 2026 Challenge, as the family celebrated the birth and adoption of the baby.
