Black Friday and Cyber Monday are in November, so that means … No. Let’s not set a bad example and fuel consumerism as well as materialism even more. Instead, let’s be a good example and have something more positive:

Theme: gifting something hand-made

Read and review anything that’s a book – novels, comics, mangas, graphic novels, poem collections, scripts, short stories, zines, et cetera. (Audiobooks count too, of course!).

How to take part

  • Write a review of a/multiple book/s where a character gifts another character something hand-made. Regardless of the occasion.
  • Post the review here on Pending Plays. (New here? Check out this page: https://pendingplays.co.uk/register-to-review/)
  • Add the tag BookGuildNovember2025 to your post

Rules

  • Read the book in November (it can be a volume from a series you’re currently reading, but shouldn’t be a re-read)
    • The character who gifts something someone else doesn’t have to be human and have hands per se, simply needs to be self-made and not bought.
  • Timeframe to read and review: 1st to 30th October November 2025
    • (If you happen to be busy in November, don’t worry about posting your review after the timeframe! We’re not that strict here!)

Make sure to join our Discord and get the Book Guild role, to not miss out on any announcements or other info! You can also add your read book to your reading challenge on StoryGraph.

Looking forward to your reviews!
