With the news that UK retailer GAME is going to cease accepting trade-ins of games, does this start to call in the death of physical media and pre-owned games? In the UK, we have one other major pre-owned seller in CEX, but the prices they charge are well above that, and sometimes hitting the heights of EBAYs best scalpers.
We’ve known for a while now that it seems companies are pushing for a move to more digital consumption, but many of us (me included) love a physical copy. This comes also shortly after Sony announced (and quickly backtracked) that it would be removing Discovery content from its store and your libraries, with no refunds being offered to those who bought this content.
Obviously, neither of these situations are ideal for anyone involved, and the ability to take content away after its been paid for is one which physical media fans have been arguing against for some time now. So let us know using the poll below, are you more of a physical media person, or are you happy with the shift towards digital content?
