You may have seen about the retro-inspired survival horror Crow Country (as it’s been all over my Twitter!) but if not read on and I’ll explain more about the game, and an exciting announcement from the developers!
I am a HUGE fan of survival horror, with Resident Evil (especially the originals) being my favourite series of all time. So I took notice as soon as I saw this title. That’s exactly where this title draws inspiration, from the classics of horror from the Playstation 1. The story circles the character Mara Forest, as they venture deep in to Crow Country, an abandoned theme park to uncover the secrets of the owners dissapearance.
The game world brings about the nostalgia of the pre-rendered backgrounds of the original Resident Evil trilogy and other similar titles. However the environment here is completely 3D whilst still retaining this feel.
In classic survival horror style, bullets are scarce as are other resources, so make every bullet count to survive the creatures that lurk within the grounds of the abandoned park. One of the features of this game that really makes my heart happy, is the inclusion of “Exploration Mode” which switches off combat and allows you to explore the world, follow the story, and focus on solving the puzzles without any heart attacks coming your way.
