A story concerning sweets is a Manhua by Shi Yier Er, which was also translated into Japanese (キャンディ ふたりの約束) and Vietnamese (Câu Chuyện Kẹo Ngọt).
A short story about two girls – Bai Xiao Xiao has a heart disease and is blind, and Feng Tang is a ghost for as long as she can remember –, who connect through sweets. However, their friendship is cut short when Bai’s condition worsens. Though Feng Tang doesn’t want to give up.
My opinion
This was way more emotional than I thought it would ever get. Sure, hospital stories are never not emotional, but I didn’t think it would get THAT deep. I cried.
It was very good, though. Hurtful and heartbreaking, but a sweet ending and totally worth the read.
And I love the supernatural elements.
The art is absolutely GORGEOUS. The owl and night theme, damn. I’m in love. So many panels are wallpaper-worthy. I need them in full HD, PLEASE. (Or better: as a poster!)

Side notes
- It’s more on the yuri side, as the GL aspects are very subtle. That’s because it’s from China, and China has sadly very strict rules when it comes to queer rep in media! The aquarium date made it pretty clear that it’s supposed to be GL, though. 😉
- Another disability rep (blind & heart disease) where the character gets cured, which I’m not a fan of. At least the blindness has been handled well overall, and it’s also not just a cure, but tied together with the supernaturalness.

Favorite game/film/book: doesn’t have one, cause there are too many good ones!
About: generalist, who likes a bit of everything, but especially has a love for magic, queerness and melancholy. When they’re not arting, they’re probably dreaming/reading through another world, or spending time in nature with their dog.
