Spooky month time! As two options in the poll in our Discord server ended up in a tie, I’ve decided to combine them. And the result is…:
Theme: classic supernatural
Supernatural genre/theme, but the creatures should be considered classics.
(Vampires, werewolves, zombies, witches, ghosts, sirens, demons, and aliens.)
Read and review anything that’s a book – novels, comics, mangas, graphic novels, poem collections, scripts, short stories, zines, et cetera. (Audiobooks count too, of course!).
The story doesn’t have to be from the horror genre at all, by the way! It can totally be a cute children’s story where vampires and werewolves are the good guys and everyone lives in harmony.
How to take part
- Write a review of a/multiple book/s with classic, supernatural creatures
- Post the review here on Pending Plays
- Add the tag BookGuildOctober2024 to your post
Rules
- Read the book in October (it can be a volume from a series you’re currently reading, but shouldn’t be a re-read)
- The classic supernatural creatures can be from any culture, though shouldn’t derive too much from the official definition. There can also be other, non-classical supernaturals in the story. As long as there’s one classic supernatural in there, the rest doesn’t matter.
- Timeframe to read and review: 1st to 31st October 2024
