The Happy Ghost – Picture Book Review

The cover of "The Happy Ghost" by Kelsey Marshalsey. A cownose stingray with their white underside facing to the viewer. They're happily swimming underwater with plants on the border of the image.

Hey everyone, I’m Ayxan Solongo aka Arden Skye aka TimeFliesAway, a shapeshifter traveling through the multiverse.

This story started a bit sad. I followed a cownose stingray along their underwater adventures. But as they wanted to play with the other underwater inhabitants, it turns out they’re scared of the stingray because they look like ghosts … At least it had a happy end!

Very cute.

The rhymes weren’t always smooth but the wonderfully sweet illustrations balance it out.

I also like the “fascinating facts” list at the end of the book. Didn’t know that stingrays have something in common with bees!

Recommended to all ages, not just kids! It promises exactly what the blurb says.
