Cate and the Garden Bandits – Book Review

Share this:

Hey everyone, I’m Ayxan Solongo aka Arden Skye aka TimeFliesAway, a shapeshifter traveling through the multiverse.

Vibrant illustrations that drew me in right away! (No pun intended ;))

The writing however isn’t on the same level. It starts slowly, typical slice of life (which I’m usually a fan of), but then quickly goes into action with no explanation whatsoever. In the end, it’s revealed there was a mystery about a garden thief, which the reader didn’t know about (we saw the thief who the protagonist follows, and it’s also in the title, but we didn’t know it was an ONGOING issue for the characters).
The ending is sweet and lovely.
But the middle felt like a Filmriss (memory gap / mental blackout).

I like the glossary at the end.
